For Aunt Amy

Eva in her hot shorts. Look at those legs!

Exploration

Eva is really into exploring things with her hands. Her favorite thing right now is faces. She loves to touch our faces - which I think is rather sweet:)

She also can grab onto objects. She will hang on to our shirts, my hair and will sometimes grab and pull at my necklace! The other day she hit the buttons on her exersaucer to play the music. Very exciting!

I had retired the Moby wrap for awhile (not too sure why), but at the suggestion of the other moms in playgroup, I got it back out and tried Eva in the front-facing positon. She loves it! I can put her in it when I need to eat lunch or when I am working. I also wore her yesterday as I vacuumed the house. I had thought that we would take her stroller this weekend to Orlando, but think that I just may wear her in the airport instead. I am sure she will love checking everything out!

Gilbert's Pride & Joy

Gilbert has a thing for TVs. He LOVES them. A few weeks ago he sold his TV. It was a little old (by his standards) and he really wanted a new one. He took the proceeds from the sale of his TV and saved his fun money and purchased this:

It is a 50" Samsung Plasma. I must say it is rather nice. The picture is amazing. We called Dish to see how much it would cost to add high definition. Way too much - they really get you will all sorts of small charges that don't seem like a lot until you add them up! So since that is not going to happen, Gilbert is on to saving for a blu-ray player. He says that Eva is going to love watching Nemo on Blu-ray. Sure.....

Blast from the Past

A previous classmate of Gilbert's posted some old pics on her myspace page. See if you can pick out Gilbert from this class picture. So funny!

Gilbert's Birthday

I got Eva all dressed up for Gilbert's birthday.
We had cake after bathtime. I had really wanted to make his cake from scratch, but making anything from scratch is difficult with an infant!

Luckily I have discovered a few things that Eva really seems to like.
Here she is in the crib staring at her mobile on Saturday morning while I eat my cereal.

Here she is in her Bumbo seat while I talk to the vet. Ricco ate my prenatal vitamins and I was a bit concerned. That dog gets into EVERYTHING!

Milestones

Yesterday afternoon I went over to Tammi's for playgroup. She had an exersaucer that she was selling as her youngest has started walking and no longer enjoys being in it! I tested it out as soon as we got home and Eva seemed to like it.

But she really enjoyed it later in the evening with her Daddy.

Thanks Tammi! I was so worried that Eva wasn't ready (i.e. big enough) for it - but Tammi reassured me that it was okay. And she sure was right!!

This morning I had Eva on her playmat while I took a shower and got ready. For the first time she actually batted at the toy hanging down. Wow. She has never done that before! And Gilbert and I have noticed that she is actually touching our faces because she wants to, not just because she is waving her hands and our faces get in the way:)

So happy that she is reaching these milestones on Gilbert's birthday. Speaking of which - I still need to make his cake!

3 Months Old

Today Eva is 3 months old. I can't believe how quickly the past 3 months have flown! She is such a happy baby - smiling a ton and talking up a storm. We are getting more into a routine and she seems to enjoy her alone time in her swing or in the crib staring at the mobile. She also doesn't mind tummy time too much and will tolerate laying on her playmat while I take a shower. She is drooling a lot and still shoves her fingers in her mouth. Today I gave her a frozen teether and she seemed to like licking it. She will grab at my face and sometimes at toys - but won't grab on command. We have started to only swaddle her lower body and that seems to work out fine. She likes standing and sitting with support. We went to "Once Upon A Child" and purchased a used Bumbo seat. We are looking forward to testing that out in the coming months. Every day is a joy and I am trying to enjoy every day that I get to work from home and be with her!

What is this??

Tasty!

Someone Gilbert knew came over and repaired a few spots in our floor. I love how nice it looks with all the furniture pushed back and the big TV gone (Gilbert sold it).

Random Pics

Here are some random pics from Friday. It was a great day - Gilbert had the day off and we met Megan for lunch!

This pic was from Thursday night. Gilbert wanted her to look like Einstein!

For Grand Pardie

Eva and I took a trip to Target on Thursday afternoon. It was the first time she or I left the house since Sunday afternoon. I really don't know why - but we just didn't have anything to do or anywhere to go the first part of the week!

I always check the clearance area in the baby department - you never know what you may find! This time we found some Thomas the Train PJs and hooded towel. The PJs are still a little big, but we had to test them out. I knew that she would make her Grand Pardie proud!

Breakfast with the Bishops & Nora

On Sunday we met with Nora, Nikki, Brad, Robby and Katie for breakfast at IHOP. Nora was in town to pick up the kids - they were going to spend a week in the Valley with their Grandparents.

Warning - IHOP has been a victim of the economy. They have decreased the size of their pancakes! So if you used to order pancakes to share with others - think again!

Eva in her cool shades from her Great Uncle Doug and Great Aunt Michele!

Legs of Steel

We can't believe how strong Eva's legs are. She loves to use them and stand up on us, on her changing table or on the sofa.

Here she is with Gilbert.

Eva also loves being naked. And it seems both Gilbert and I have been messy lately spilling our food and drink on her. And since I am horrible with getting stains out, I decided to take her clothes off if I am eating and feeding her at the same time!

Giddy-Up

My Aunt Michele and Uncle Doug got Eva these super cute socks that look like cowboy boots in all different colors. On Wednesday she wore her purple ones and was too cute!

Eva's Favorite Place to Nap

Is always on me!

I said before I had her that I wasn't going to let her sleep on me or in my bed. Well, never say never! We don't let her sleep with us all night, just after her last feeding around 5 or 6. She cuddles up with Gilbert and I before Gilbert has to leave for work. She loves it and so do we. Now I just have to worry about all the other things I said I wasn't going to do....

Hey Macarena

I am sure I spelled that wrong, but Gilbert is not here to instruct me on the proper spelling! Eva loves listening to music or to us sing - in English or Spanish. On Tuesday morning (Gilbert's day off) he took advantage of our morning baby and taught her the Macarena. She loved it!

Splish Splash She Loves Taking Her Bath

Gilbert is in charge of bathtime. Since I am breastfeeding, he feels left out at times and needs something with Eva all to himself. Eva loves bath time and spending time with her Dad.

Gilbert also gets her lotioned up and dressed in her PJs. He prefers PJs that zip, since he has diaper duty at night. She has grown out of all her zip PJs with feet on the bottom and now we have her in 3-6 month ones. Tonight she has on a pair of 6 month PJs that fit her length perfectly, but is big everywhere else.
